Time Keeps On Slipping

Exploring this venue as a project for establishing an employee blogging capability in our office WAN... Inspiration has come from my daughter's site. It opened my eyes to the communication possibilities in what I once thought was a passing fad.

Reestablishing Blog Routine

I've not used this blog site in so long I couldn't remember how to get in.
I wonder how many abandoned accounts are out here in the ether.

Democrats may win the house!

This link will take you to a very interesting story on how Southeastern Massachusetts sees it's political future changing with a win of control in the House by the Democrats!

I see between the lines, a chance, at last, to move to a national health program that will relieve us from what looks to me like a sure road to revolution between the haves and have nots.

Medical costs and insurance companies are driving a wedge into our future as a nation. If the workers can no longer afford to live, they will stop working and start fighting!

Democrats may take house!

Go to this site to view a very interesting story on how Southeastern Massachusetts views the effects of a Democratic takeover of the House of Representatives.

Wow! Lots of good possibilities for a national health care system!

I think it's inevitable.

Our Brother's Keeper

Went to breakfast with Morgan this morning. (Our Corgi) The usual Sunday morning jaunt to Olivia's for French toast and coffee, some local chit chat with friends and then buy a paper and take Morgan for a walk by the golf course.

One of my breakfast buddies came in looking and sounding a little down this morning. It was a bit grey weatherwise and still not very bright at 8:15 when Mike walked in. Once he got his coffee he shared the fact that he'd already had quite a morning.

He said he starts his Sunday mornings very early at the launderette and this morning during his usual routine one of the "regulars" sat next to him out of the blue and said to him "I'm thinking of killing myself today!"

Mike told me the fellow was very distraught about not seeming to be able to get anything right in this life. Mike explained to the guy that before he decided to do anything so final , he needed to realize that what ever was bothering him was only temporary and that no matter what the problem might be, it didn't require a permanent solution.

The poor fellow then began to explain a series of events and situations to Mike that caused Mike to worry that no matter what he may say to this gentleman, it wouldn't be enough to disuade him from the path he was comtemplating. The last of the string of hardship stories involved the gents diabetic dog having reached a stage health where it should probably be put down but to him, it was his only companion and he couldn't do that to the dog.

After exchanging ideas on what might be done to help both the dog and this guy, Mike convinced him to watch his two loads of laundry for him while he ran a few errands including getting breakfast and he would bring coffee and a bagel back as a token of thanks.

As we left Olivia's to continue our Sunday morning rituals Mike said he had been planning to help a buddy fix up his motorcycle today for an upcoming show but had changed his mind. He was going to spend the day with this launderette guy to make sure the depression was lifted.

As I passed by St. Hyacynths a few minutes later I wondered how many prayers were in the air.

Time Keeps On Slipping

Time Keeps On Slipping

West Wing is shutting down. Bumped to Sunday nights at eight, it was doomed to fail in drawing more than it's loyal political junky fans. I am one!
Being a fierce Independent who has participated in both the major parties over the years, I have found this program quite interesting in how the writers have worked their propaganda in and out of imagined world issues and from time to time, bumped into reality.
Well, it appears now, the reality of network execs whose positions and livleyhoods are the drivers behind ushering this provocative show off the air.
Pardon my age, I raise a glass and toast "Here's to the Smothers Brothers". In my mind, the leaders in provocative TV to be booted due to political content of their now infamous comedy show. A close second chug to Laugh-In.
What ever happened to live and learn?
Are we destined forever to T&A shows like LasVegas?
How about reality drivel shows?
Howard going to the Satelite was good or bad?
Are these choices we no longer have?
Where are the protesters?
Time keeps on slippin....
